小胶质细胞是**神经系统中的胶质细胞类型之一，是神经胶质细胞网络的重要组成部分。小胶质细胞出现在大脑由发育早期向成熟阶段转化的过程中，被认为是大脑免疫监视的主要细胞。小胶质细胞也表达?II类主要组织相容性复合体（MHC?II），向CD4阳性T细胞呈递抗原，并能进行Fc段介导的胞吞作用，并且与造血细胞和组织巨噬细胞分享多种抗原。在大脑发育或**神经系统受伤发生程序性细胞死亡后，小胶质细胞能被激活。做为大脑的巨噬细胞清除组织碎片，受损细胞或微生物。另外，有大量的证据表明，小胶质细胞参与多种的生理和病理过程，它们通过与神经元和其它胶质细胞共同作用，产生诸如生长因子、细胞因子等活性物质来完成以上功能。
ScienCell实验室的HM提取自大脑皮层，原代冻存，冰冻运输。每管细胞密度超过1×106/ml。细胞经OX-42（CD11b/c）和F4/80免疫荧光鉴定。本细胞经检测不含HIV-1,?HBV,?HCV,?支原体,?细菌,?酵母菌和真菌。如采用ScienCell?实验室特制的培养基，可保证此细胞生长良好。HM不推荐增值培养。
